Welcome

The Litchfield Area Ministerial Association has been in existence for many years. Though no records are available, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the ministers gathered to fortify the faith of Litchfield’s citizens from the beginning of the town. In 1870, Trinity Episcopal Church became the first church to formally organize in Litchfield. Their building is on the National Registry of Historic Buildings and they still hold weekly services. Over the next three years the First Presbyterian Church, United Methodist Church, Christian Church of Litchfield and the First Lutheran Church all began to hold services.

LAMA has helped this community strengthen their faith through Evangelistic Rallies, Tent Meetings, Thanksgiving services, Good Friday services, National & World Day of Prayer events, World Peace remembrances, Baccalaureate services, and ecumenical prayer services. We have organized, World hunger awareness efforts, parenting seminars, Circles of Support ally teams, summer softball league, community music cantatas and C.R.O.P. walks. LAMA has a fund set up to help transients who need food or housing assistance. We pull together in times of tragedy (like the 9/11/02 terrorist attacks of the World Trade Center buildings) and have shared relief efforts (like when hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana in 2005).

Currently, several of the LAMA members serve on community boards and councils, they offer worship services at the Emmanuel Care Center, the Lakeview Ranch (a facility which cares for people with dementia), and the Meeker County Fair. They partner with other churches and organizations to offer support groups for those who are chemically dependent, poverty stricken, going through divorce or suffering the loss of a loved one. We sing Christmas carols in the nursing homes, meet for prayer and encourage each other in our efforts to bring the good news of Jesus to all.

LAMA has kept open relationships with the City and the local school district to partner in their plans for pandemic preparation, crisis counseling, invocation prayers and other initiatives that see the importance of encouraging the faith base of the citizens of the Litchfield Area.

Litchfield is a positive place for families to grow and for faith to be expressed openly.
